Maggie Hadden

Painter

I live and work in the West of Ireland near Westport in Co Mayo. I studied Fine Art at Portsmouth Poly and did a Masters in Printmaking at Wimbledon College of Art. My work is inspired by the living landscape around me and the poetics of nature. My memories of painting daffodils bring me back to around 10 yrs of age and the same childlike excitement flooded back as I began to put paint on board. The vibrancy of these sturdy flowers heralding new beginnings like brilliant luminous trumpets. The certainty of their arrival bringing hope in uncertain times.
